Window Cleaning

Glass on the coast collects three different kinds of grime, and none of them come off with a garden hose. Salt carried in off the harbor dries into a haze. Oak pollen settles every spring and bakes onto the surface in the sun. Irrigation overspray leaves mineral spotting behind each time the sprinklers run. Left long enough, all three cut the light a room actually gets and make a house look neglected from the street.

Hard water spotting is the one that gets worse with time instead of better. The spots are mineral deposits, mostly calcium, left behind as the water evaporates — and if they sit through enough wet-dry cycles they etch into the glass instead of resting on the surface. A standard soap-and-squeegee pass will not lift an etched spot; it takes a removal step aimed at the mineral layer itself.

Window cleaning that skips the screens only does half the job. Dust and pollen work into the mesh and choke it, cutting the airflow a screen exists to allow and clouding the view through it. We pull screens and clean them apart from the glass, along with the frames and sills, where grit and mildew collect in corners nobody wipes down.

The work covers both sides of the glass, not only the side visible from the sidewalk. Interior glass picks up its own film — cooking residue, dust, handprints — and an inside streak shows up in afternoon light as plainly as anything left outside. Both get cleaned to the same standard in the same visit.

Clean glass changes how a room feels and how a building reads from the street before anything else about the property does. Regular window cleaning is one of the least expensive ways to improve how a Mount Pleasant or Charleston property presents, and one of the few upgrades that shows the same day it is finished.
